Space Coast Wellness Challenge I

Annual Wellness Challenge Helps Build Healthy Habits

The annual Space Coast Wellness Challenge held each spring is a fun, free way to get active and stay connected with your community, all while building healthier habits that last. Whether you’re walking, dancing, biking, or paddleboarding, every minute of movement counts.

During this annual challenge, participants track their weekly minutes of physical activity and submit them through a simple form shared by email each week. No gym membership is required. The challenge simply tracks minutes of movement, any way you like to exercise. Teams rise in the rankings based on their total average active minutes, and weekly leaderboards on our Facebook page keep the friendly competition going strong.

For the 2025 challenge, 1,451 participants on 20 teams engaged in the challenge, recording an impressive 1,664,498 minutes of total combined activity.

Throughout the challenge, participants have the chance to take part in free community activities like Zumba classes, group walks, beach clean-ups, and more. It’s about moving together, building momentum, and making wellness a community-wide priority.

“At age 75, my habits are pretty well set,” said Dennis, who has participated in several past wellness challenges. “But my exercise has mostly been ‘lone endeavors.’ Sharing something as simple as my active minutes was a nice change.”

Another participant, Wanda, agreed. “I really appreciate you doing this every year,” she said. “I exercise regularly, but this challenge gives me motivation to keep going on days when I may be tired or unmotivated.”
