Seeking a volunteer to assist Operations Manager with coordinating events, planning events, and tracking volunteer hours. This volunteer position would need to commit a few hours a week and on property and we could work out a way some of the responsibilities could be completed from your home (must have internet service and computer).

Assist with meal preparation - cutting salad, preparing hot rolls, cutting desserts, wiping down tables, sweeping, trash collection, and mopping. Must have basic common knowledge of food safety and ability to stand for a few hours at a time.

Assembling food packs for our Bag Pack Program during the school year. A predetermined "menu" of items will be purchased and the volunteer would pack bags according to the product menu. The menu changes weekly. We are seeking 6 individuals that can volunteer twice a month and create 250 bags every other week (Tuesday from 10am - 1pm).

Assist with clients seeking showers, laundry services, clothing and household goods selection. Must have pleasant, professional and fair demeanor with friendly attitude, organizational and multi tasking abilities.

Help sort donations (Building 2) and process them for the resale in the thrift store. Primarily, it would be hanging clothes, sorting shoes, and handbags. We also need volunteers to assist with straightening the sales floor and putting out merchandise on the sales floor.

Assist with filling the food orders for clients seeking food assistance. A "food formula" is provided, explaining the quantities of each type of food (vegetables, fruit, soup, etc), volunteer will use their judgment to complete order. Once complete, volunteer will collect client ticket, track number of bags prepared and have client sign for groceries. Volunteer are also needed to assist with restocking shelves. We are seeking volunteers that can commit to specific days and times. Our greatest needs are: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (morning only).

Pick up bread and pastry donations from local Publix Grocery Stores. You would need a large truck or SUV and be able to load product into your vehicle. Once at the Sharing Center, we will assist with the unload. The food will be given away through our emergency food program or utilized in our daily lunch program. We ask that the volunteer arrives at Publix around 730am then once loaded comes to the Sharing Center to unload. The whole process is about a three hour commitment.

Answer phones and schedule donation pickups, transfer calls, offer referrals, assemble hygiene kits, and answer basic questions. Some data entry (excel) may be required after training is completed. Filing and file purging may also be part of this position.

Volunteer will be tracking clients who eat lunch at our facility between 11am- 1pm. We currently use an Access database program but updating it to be more user friendly. Volunteer should have basic computer knowledge, keyboard and typing. Volunteer is one on one with clients, a friendly attitude is a greatly needed. We serve up to 200 people per day.
