Volunteer opportunities are listed at brevardzoo.org. Brevard Zoo asks volunteers to make a 6-month or longer, 4-hour weekly commitment. Brevard Zoo is open 363 days of the year (Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas). Restoreourshores.org has short-term opportunites.

Central Brevard Sharing Center is looking for volunteers for various postions: can sorting, donation sorting, community kitchen and shower monitoring. CBSC is open Monday thru Friday (9am-3pm), Saturdays (9am-12pm) and Sundays (2pm-3pm). Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer without a parent or guardian.

Endeavor Elementary School invites community members to get involved by volunteering during school hours, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Roles include mentoring, media center assistance, field trip chaperoning, resource room support, and classroom tasks such as filing papers or preparing packets.

Early Head Start is currently seeking volunteer landscapers to assist Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. This opportunity provides a fulfilling way to enhance the organization's outdoor spaces while supporting its mission.

Early Head Start, a community-based program dedicated to supporting income-eligible families, infants, and toddlers with comprehensive early childhood education services, is seeking volunteers for Meal Delivery at its Palm Bay location. Meal Delivery volunteer services are requested Monday-Friday (10:30 AM-11:30 AM) at the Palm Bay location.

Computers Advancing Education seeks volunteers to assist with refurbishing donated computers every Tuesday from 12 PM to 6 PM. Computers Advancing Education serves underprivileged students, schools, and other nonprofit entities.

JA Career Speaker Series®: In this program, a volunteer guest speaker visits the classroom to share insights into their career, work, and educational background. The speaker may bring props, work samples, or visual aids to help engage students and make the experience more interactive. Dates and Times: Varies by teacher and school. As part of the Great American Cleanup, Keep Brevard Beautiful partners annually with local cities in a friendly competition called Trash Bash. This event challenges municipalities to gather the most volunteers and collect the largest amount of trash from their communities. The event will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with times varying by municipality. The Dorcas Outreach Center for Kids (DOCK) is a ministry of Neighbor up Brevard. Located in Booker T. Washington Park neighborhood (Melbourne, FL), the DOCK offers afterschool and summer programming for school-aged kids grades K-12th. The DOCK always has a need for talented, experienced volunteer tutors to assist elementary, middle and high school students. Volunteer tutors helps both struggling and gifted students reach their full potential by supplementing the instruction they receive in their classroom, assisting with homework and guiding them towards study practices that can help them excel. Tutors work with individual students one-on-one or in small groups. Support is needed Monday - Thursday; tutoring hours will vary between 3:00 - 5:00 PM depending on grade level. New Life Mission is looking for volunteers to help with office administration tasks Monday thru Friday (9am-4pm) and Saturdays (9-11am). All ages are welcome, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
